When I Was... 6yrs old, my Dad taught me to ride a bicycle.

I remember... that I almost crashed while learning how to cycle. I lost control and swerved to the left. I vaguely remember that I fell and Daddy picked me up. It was a good learning experience with Daddy. 

Dad, thank you for... providing for me and caring by doing the "Dad's for Life" cards with me nightly.

When I Was... a boy, my father, who is the only breadwinner, has to teach night classes in the evening.

I remember... when he returned, i would rush to the door excitedly and shout "Pa Pa is home liao!". Daddy would always give me a big smile and greet me happily.

When I Was... young my father was a strict disciplinarian who never fails to lash discipline actions to any of us.

I remember... I used to hate him for inflict such harsh punishment on us.He will strip away my brother's shirt and whipped him using his belt.for a girl,he will use came to lash on our shoulder and leg. I hate him to the guts.I am always the trouble kid who got cane almost everyweek.

Dad, thank you for... As I grew older,I realised this action of physical punishment made me ensure harsh punishment

When I Was... young, it wasn't easy for my parents to bring up 5 of us with my Dad being the sole breadwinner.

I remember... my Dad taking up 2 jobs to support the family. He will starts the day as early as 4am and cycles to work. In the afternoon, he will go for his 2nd job and returns home late into the night. Despite all the tiredness from work, he does not take it out on any of his 5 children. He will sometimes returns from work with some tibits for us and that will keep us happy for the next few days. 

My Dad is not good at expressing his care and concern for his children but I remember how he carried me on his back to the doctor when I was sick and to me, that was his way of caring for us. Till date, I can still remember how big finger feels... when he feeds me medication and if it drips onto his finger, he will put his finger into my mouth and ask me to lick it up, Though it may sound disgusting, it was good memory for me. 

Life was definitely tough for our family back then bit my parents did not give up on us. Neither were we being shortchanged. In fact it has toughen up each of us in the family.

Dad, thank you for... being my Dad and thanks for all that you have done for the family-both good and bad. We all LOVE u!!

When I Was... younger, I recall my dad being extremely meticulous and strict over my conduct and daily work.

I remember... that he would reason things with me. He was always able to connect with me, and assist me in any struggles I went through. He gave up much time and effort in ensuring I stretched myself to the limit and be well-versed in many aspects. His typical advice "Do your best, and God does the rest", says it all. The meals we take together every weekend, whether rain or shine, keeps us close together. It is truly him that has brought me to where I am today.

Dad, thank you for... all the memories we shared so far. You're not just a father, but a mentor, teacher and friend too!

When I Was... about 2, my dad taught me a very useful skill...how to ride the escalator without losing my toes.

I remember... my dad bringing me out for walks in parks and the forests to watch birds and look at trees when I was barely 3. That helped cultivate in me a deep love for nature. I remember how he "smuggled" me into a theatre to watch the Phantom of the Opera when I was still under-aged, as well as numerous classical music concerts after that.That's why I'm now in my school's string ensemble. I also remember how he always took care of me, especially when I was ill, always encouraging me to strive for improvement. He is the one who helped build the strength in me, both in my studies and my character. He has indeed blessed me in every way I can think of. Whatever he has done for me that I'm grateful and thankful for, is definitely way beyond these few words! 

Dad, thank you for... everything! Thank you for being there for me all the time!! I'll do my best to be a good daughter <3

When I Was... young, I remembered how my dad loved me. When he had to punish me, it was more sound than fury!

I remember... that my dad met with a serious traffic accident when I was a teenager but rode home on his motorcycle. After much persuasion, he admitted himself into the hospital and stayed in the ICU for a month! Just this year, he was diagnosed with cancer. Instead of collapsing in fear, he looked at me and said that it's a matter of time before one has to pass away. During his treatment, he never complained one bit, and patiently endured the pain and discomfort. He even continued with his wisecracks and great humour. As I look back at his life, I am so amazed by his great courage and how he refused to succumb to fear and worry, and how he kept up his spirits even under such great adversity! He is such a shining example to us all! 

Dad, thank you for... for your courage and your shining example of what it means to be a great father!

When I Was... younger, I used to be a "problematic child".

I remember... he somehow could always remain really calm and patient. As I grew older, he entrusted me with more and more things, always reminding me that I'm responsible for myself. He not only taught me to be patient under stress or when I am really frustrated, but he also allowed me to take ownership of myself, made me more responsible and supported me whenever and wherever he could. His love came in small actions and ways that added up and became something big over the years.

When I Was... young, I was very sharp-tongued and also hot-tempered. My Dad was the only one could calm me down.

I remember... my Dad going through my tempers and tantrums like how an experienced sailor battles a very powerful storm. He would also ask me what was I so angry about then he would advise me what to do about it. He was always there for me, to help me with everything I did not know how to do. He always advises me about what to do. Till now, I have never regretted listening to his advice. 

Dad, thank you for... helping me in everything. I love you very much. Thank you for being a wonderful father.

When I Was... 6yrs old, my mum went for a field trip to India, my dad took leave and look after me...

I remember... I m afraid of insects and animal. This year almost every weekend, my dad took me to various nature park in Singapore. I like to go to Pulau Ubin most. My dad would rent a 2 seater bicycle and bring me around Pulau Ubin. I also like to go to MacRitchie Reservoir Park. After the long journey, i always end up sleeping in the bus. My dad would put his arm around me to hold me. He is warm and cosy. One day i was very sick. I had an asthma attack. My did did not sleep all night to look after me. I vomitted several times and each time he would clean the mess. The very next morning, he brought me to see doctor. 

I hated to study at home.. My when my dad was off on weekdays, he would bring me to library to do my homework then he would also bring me to the nearest park for cycling. 

I love my dad very much.

When I Was... in kindergarten,I am so glad to have extra time with my parents in the car when they fetch me.

I remember... I remembered how hard you have to fetch me from work to school.Sometimes on rainy days,you have to pull yourself up to fetch me. 
I am worried because during rainy days you use your motorbike to fetch 
me and that is dangerous,I will always pray that you will always be safe for fetching me.

I remember... you used to give me toys when I want them. You used to bring me to Toys'R'Us to buy toys for me. You used to bring me to the clinic when I am sick, you used to wipe my tears when I was crying. I used to wish you weren't alive when I was young. Now, I regret.
